New Contributor to EcoEtsy Blog

Hey guys! I alluded to this exciting news last week, but it’s now official! I’m going to be a contributing writer to the EcoEtsy blog, writing about, what else, food. Well, food and gardening. Unfortunately we’re pretty much done with gardening for 2012, but I’m sure there are plenty of food-related posts to get us through winter.

EcoEtsy is a global team of eco-minded Etsy sellers (use tag “TeamEcoEtsy” to find our stuff), whose mission is dedicated to protecting our planet by utilizing methods to reduce carbon footprints in managing our businesses and leading our personal lives in the most eco-friendly manner. We are just as determined to use recycled materials in our creations as we are about recycling packaging materials. We take the safety of the environment in mind in the way that we manage our businesses and create our items. We strive to grow as a team that focuses on promoting eco-living in our personal lives as well as in our businesses, and educating others about the importance of being environmentally responsible.

The blog is a great way to get “green” tips for all parts of your life, whether you’re looking to just recycle your soda cans or to go totally off the grid. In addition to the Food & Gardening section, you’ll find tutorials and suggestions for keeping a eco-friendly home. Of course, there are also gift ideas from team members on Etsy. That’s a perfect place for you to bookmark as we head into the holiday season.

My first post will be the third week of October, but there are a BUNCH of great contributors new and returning.

Fabric pumpkinsThere is already a great post about the many uses of pumpkins. Why do I care about this? Well, I’m making October pumpkin month! As the post mentions, pumpkins are everywhere, but I’m going to give you ideas that take them beyond the latte and the seed muck on the kitchen floor. Stay tuned for more.
