September Projects – Fabric Wrist Corsages, Baby Shower Centerpieces and More

I forgot to post what I was working on in September actually in September, but I still want you to see. It was a busy month, as always. Here are some samples of what I went to customers over the last few weeks.

Of course I had a million more (OK, maybe not a million, but a lot!) requests for wrist corsages for moms and bridesmaids. My favorite color combination this month was a cashew satin flower with a marshmallow beaded bracelet. (Related – I’m testing out using food to describe my colors… Too much?)

Neutral Fabric Flower Wrist Corsage for WeddingsAwhile back I created a centerpiece for a baby shower that included wire “stems” so guests could leave a message for the new parents. That mom has a pregnant friend (and two adorable little girls!), so she requested another centerpiece display. The nursery colors are yellow and gray, making this a sunny addition to the party!

Yellow, Gray, and Green Baby Shower CenterpieceAt the very first farmers market I went to this summer, a customer talked about a peacock-themed bouquet as a wedding shower gift for her niece. This month we finalized the details and I designed this piece which included peacock feathers, white ostrich feathers, and teal, purple and green fabrics. It will be a great centerpiece for the shower and for the rehearsal  The bride is going to use this when they practice walking down the aisle.

I know I already told you about the RedLine Gallery Fashion Show, but I had to include this picture of me at the event. I’m so proud of these flowers! Not only do they look good, but they stood up without any assistance during the whole show including a very jumpy finale where all the models and designers paraded past.

Maggie and Tissue Paper FlowersAnd finally… one of my great friends is getting married in October. This wedding is going to be epic! I can’t wait. Miss A has all the details thought out including a little gift for her flower girls. These wee ladies are very tiny – the oldest is just two years old! Since they are so small, I made mini versions of my flower girl wands in the wedding colors of purple and ivory for their tiny hands.

Purple and Ivory Tulle Flower Girl WandStay tuned for a big post in October. I will start working on holiday gift items this month. (How is it possibly time for that already?!) Subscribe to the blog so you get first dibs on the great gift ideas for all the ladies in your life!
