As promised, the Mark Skarich Memorial Road Show will be coming to Milwaukee Saturday, June 6. We will have a memorial service at Wauwatosa Presbyterian Church at 1 pm that day. A reception will follow at one of my parents’ favorite bar/restaurants. Location and directions will be provided at the church.
Roadsnorters (and other Harley folk…): At the service in Texas, the firemen wore their dress blues. Dad wouldn’t want funeral suits, so I ask that you wear you’re umm…dress leathers? Moral of the story-please ride your Harleys and wear whatever would be comfortable on the drive.
In lieu of flowers, I would like to suggest Milwaukee folks donate to the Blood Center of Wisconsin. Mom and I couldn’t remember a charity that dad gave money to regularly, but he gave blood on a dedicated basis. They’ll be happy to receive blood or money. 🙂
I would recommend the Radisson Hotel Milwaukee West for those of you coming from out of town. It is close to the church and my house and within walking distance (if you’re willing to play Frogger on a busy road) to many restaurants and shopping. The Radisson is a bit on the pricey side, but it looks like you get Friday free if you stay Saturday as well. If that’s too much for you, do a Travelocity search based on address. There are some cheaper options just a few blocks away.
See you soon!
