As I strolled through my wedding blogs this afternoon, I saw a description of a couple who had all guests leave the reception area so they could enjoy their last dance by themselves. While they were dancing, the guests organized themselves to give the couple a big send-off.
While this is great for pictures (“here they come…1, 2, 3…CHEER!”), it seems like an impersonal way to end a wedding. I come from the school of thought that believes the reception is more for your family and friends than just the two of you. You have the rest of your life to celebrate (or at least later that night.) You might not see your Great Aunt Sally until Christmas…2014.
What do you think? Am I off? Great way to create a sentimental moment?
