As we get ready to take a break for the holidays, I find it to be a great time for me to say “thank you” to all of my new customers, vendors, partners, mentors, and friends! What an exhilarating year it has been for me both personally and professionally. I would not be in this position if it was not for you!
I would also like to spend a moment on the MACC Fund and Cookies for Kids’ Cancer, two charities I had the priveledge to work with this year. Both of these organizations are dedicated to supporting children with cancer – research, psychological support, physical therapies, etc. In addition to traditional fundraising methods, these nonprofits have unique events to bring in money. I supported the Women for MACC’s Couture for a Cure event this October with an auction item and pins for volunteer designation. I attended the event and had the wonderful opportunity to enjoy lunch with a beautiful young lady who is battling cancer. There was a lot of hope in the room that day, that is for sure!
Also, as you hopefully noticed, I joined the #MKEFoodies group to host a local bake sale to support Cookies for Kids’ Cancer. It was a great way to get in the holiday spirit, eat a lot of great treats, and raise money for a good cause. My plans for 2012 include more volunteer involvement and these two organizations will always stay on the short list.
Merry Christmas! Happy Hanukkah! Joyous Kwanzaa! Happy New Year! Whatever you celebrate during this time, I hope it includes everything you could hope.
