Why yes, “Pinks and Blues” is, in fact, awfully generic, but once you visit this Pinterest board, you’ll see why I left it this way. Hot pink goes with navy, which goes with baby pink, which goes with Tiffany blue, which goes with coral, which goes with… well, you get the idea.
I love these combinations. They are classic; a little preppy perhaps, but they are never going out of style.
As we celebrate destination weddings this month, I’ve also incorporated pictures of beach and mountain weddings. There are even a few links to a pink castle wedding! It’s important to think about your location when picking out your wedding colors. Deep, rich jewel tones will probably be a bit heavy for a beach wedding, whereas neon colors may be trendy, but still not appropriate for a European soiree.
When planning a destination wedding, try not to pack too much. Use local sources and the landscape to create the decorations. As an example, ask the reception location if they are colored linens you could use. Picking napkin colors is typically a last minute decision, but you may benefit from asking them on the front end. One less thing to pack!
I love the wood handles on the bouquets in this Colorado wedding picture. Might have to incorporate something similar into a future design.
