A year ago today, I married the man of my dreams. The day was magical. Everything went right. We cried a little and laughed a lot. The food was yummy, the guests were happy, the DJ was a rockstar. It was great.
This day was also the cumulation of several months of hard work. Not only had I dealt with the normal wedding planning nonsense, but nine months before this day I got a bee in my bonnet to make my own wedding flowers.
My mom had given me her wedding veil to use however I saw fit. After trolling the internet, I came up with a few tutorials that seemed easy enough. They were, but by the time I finally finished the flowers in February, the “special, unique” flowers became the “g#$ $$*%, @(%^#$-%&$*()&, will-they-ever-be-done” flowers. I was so pleased with the end result, but they took FOREVER.
The Original Heirloom Bouquet will always have a special place in my heart, not only because it was with me when I walked down the aisle, but because it holds the blood, sweat and tears of my first wedding floral project.
Over this last year, I’ve created my own flower designs and got quite comfortable and confident in my styles. So if you get the same bee in your bonnet and want to do something unique, let’s talk. Let me save you the stress of trying to tackle this project (along with the million other things you’ll have to do). You’ll end up with beautiful flowers AND your sanity. Bonus.
