Can you use neon colors for your wedding or special event? Girl, have we not established you can do anything you want?! That said, you don’t want your grandkids to look at your wedding albums and think “wow, grandma’s wedding sure was “teens”, wasn’t it!” (Related: what are we going to call this decade??)
I put together this inspiration board because I think these neon colors CAN be used for events in ways that aren’t too tacky. I think the big secret is to keep the neon as the accent color (or two…definitely not more than three) and use a neutral as your main color. Chalkboard grey looks great with bold yellow. Try burlap beige with bright pink. Pure ivory would look perfect with a bold, minty green. Play off of my sorority colors by pairing a deep navy with a loud turquoise. For an unexpected twist, add a crazy tangerine to a color scheme of soft lavender and sage.
You don’t need to be planning a wedding to test out these colors. I think they would be even more appropriate for a birthday party or casual get-together.
I’ve again put together a Pinterest board that showcases these color schemes. Which combinations do you like best?
