I was so fortunate to work with Lisa Mathewson Photography for my recent photo shoot for Mark the Occasion Design’s wedding portfolio, but it happened almost by fate. I actually went to high school with Lisa and caught up with her via Facebook. I was trying to figure out if I could take the pictures myself (short answer: NO!), when I saw Lisa’s great work and asked to meet with her.
Lisa did accept that meeting. She asked the perfect questions to ensure that she would provide the exact look I was going for. She made an effort to point out that she doesn’t just take pictures, she tells a story.
And a story, she did. We first did pictures of just the products in her studio at Stonewood Village in Brookfield. A few days later, we had models pose with the items at Trimborn Farms, a cute little location she recommended. It turned out this shoot took place on one of the only cold days we’ve had this winter, but Lisa did a great job working quickly with each item and pose, so the whole thing only took about 90 minutes. I was so impressed with Lisa’s ease with the models and how relaxed she made them – even our little girl. Additionally, she worked well with the light and the brisk wind to get the best side of each product. In the end, she had over 1500 photos to pick from and gave me about 250 perfectly edited shots.
Lisa does most of her work with weddings, but she also does lifestyle shoots with families, just children, and beautiful pregnant women. I wholeheartedly recommend Lisa for any of your photographic needs!!
