Yesterday, I gave you a bunch of ideas as to how to thank your besties for whatever great things they have done, but I thought it bears mentioning thank you notes as their own idea. I’m sure you send thank you notes when you leave a job interview or receive a gift (right?!?), but what about a nice coffee date with a mentor or a perfectly timed phone call from a dear friend?
I like to think that a thank you note is appropriate any time you leave the situation feeling better and/or the card receiver has given some of their time or money to support you. Sometimes emotional attention is more valuable than tangible gifts.
You don’t have to send a physical note every time, but isn’t getting regular mail fun? So much better than the political postcards and generic coupons that typically fill my mailbox! Also, I don’t think you need to write a novel in every thank you note. The recipient probably knows why they are being thanked. If you are short on time, a quick note is better than nothing.
And with all of this said, THANK YOU, blog readers and customers. You folks are awesome and have given me a great several months entertaining and educating you. I am so proud to live in a country where I have this opportunity to have a small business in an industry that is so fun!
Happy fourth of July American friends!
