Color Combo of the Month – Coral, Red…and Yellow??

When the folks at Married in Milwaukee asked me to create a bouquet for the Art Milwaukee event, they asked that I used the colors of their website. At first I really struggled with the punchy pink, scarlet red and mustard yellow. While that looked great on-screen, I wasn’t sure if I could make it romantic.

Answer – it can be!

I started off with a great piece of fabric from Bolted MKE that tied in deep reds and a coral pink. From there, I found tiny gold seed beads that I used in many ways to decorate the bouquet. In the end, I loved the edgy look of this design and wanted to play around with the colors a bit more.

I found this combo on Design Seeds which fit what I was looking for perfectly!

Red, coral, and yellow color combo

I love the use of a mustard yellow or even a gold vs. a bright punch of lemon. I think that allows you to take this color scheme into the fall. Perhaps it could even be used for an upbeat brunch soiree in the winter. Who says the cold months need to be drab.

And let me know what you think – does this combination work??
