Ancient Artifact Unearthed in Midwestern Dining Room

Last week I walked into the new house and found what can only be described as the eighth wonder of the world.

I am assuming if I find the right keyhole, the gateway to mid-60s Miami and/or the fountain of youth has been found right in my new dining room.

Epic 1960s Wallpaper

Goodness is that some bold wallpaper. It’s so ugly, it’s beautiful. Who puts this in their formal dining area? (Because it would be a totally different story in a family room, Maggie?!) Can you imagine what the rest of the room must have looked like if this was what was on the walls? Oh, if this paper could talk.

The best part was that Randy unearthed this added feature and forgot to tell me about it, so I discovered it on my own. This was worth a big laugh and interrupting his work day to discuss. Ah Maria and Giuseppe… I hope we live up to the decorating standards you’ve left for this room.

In case there was any concern, please let the record show that there is no water feature on this property unless you consider the hopefully done-for puddle in the basement that appeared after a big, ugly rain before we landscaped the side of the house, but fruity drinks are always welcome.

What do you think? Should we keep it?
