Ah, the summer cold. How I have not missed you…
I finally got a relaxing day yesterday. No painting. No cleaning. No hanging curtains or pictures. No unpacking boxes.
Instead, it was to be a day of hanging by the lake. Reading books. Taking naps. Eating ice cream and tacos – perhaps in that order.
Yes, all of these things happened. And it was glorious. But the day was continuously interrupted by a constantly running nose and a steady stream of sneezes. Bah humbug.
I haven’t had a summer cold in ages, so I thought it might be allergies (though it was made worse when I came inside?!). I tried Claritin to no avail. Instead, I went to bed with a pile of Kleenex and an extra grumble.
I woke up this morning feeling a little better and now that I’m 4 hours into my day, it’s almost like it never happened.
Perhaps I’m allergic to relaxing? Figures.
In case it comes back – what’s the best medicine for colds? As I said, it’s been so long I don’t know what I’ve taken before. I do know the carbonation of a diet coke does wonders. (Yah! An excuse for a diet coke today. Not all is lost.)
