Mark the Occasion Designs is very excited to be a new member of Team EcoEtsy, a global team of eco-minded Etsy sellers, whose mission is dedicated to protecting our planet by utilizing methods to reduce carbon footprints in managing our businesses in the most eco-friendly manner. The team has a great blog with ideas to live a greener life while showcasing it’s Etsy members. If you’re looking for reusable sandwich bags, napkin rings made from leather belts, or a vintage wedding dress, then this is a blog you should follow. They even have an Android App for shopping!
As a function of the work we put out, Mark the Occasion Designs can be considered an eco-friendly business. We try to use vintage fabrics and jewelry found locally to create our items. Our wedding bouquets are created to replace fresh cut flowers that may have traveled across the world for just one day of use. Talk about your carbon footprint savings! Additionally, we try to run a green business by keeping paper use to a minimum and using natural light whenever possible.
That said, we could always do more! As a function of my membership in EcoEtsy, they have asked me to join a website that you may find very useful as well. Practically Green gives you an opportunity to survey your behaviors to see how you could improve.
I have two pinterest boards on this subject that you may enjoy. My “It Is Easy Being Green” board has lots of ideas for gardening and cleaning the house without using harsh chemicals. The “DIY Beauty Products” board has some ideas on creating your own masks, shampoos, etc. I need more ideas there. Please share if you have any.
What are your secrets to being green?
