Lots of great work has come out of our new studio recently! Some of it has been in the way of running a business, but I always enjoy creating custom items for my brides and other party hosts. Here are two recent projects:
“Modern Vintage” Wedding Package for Hillary
Hillary contacted me via Etsy with a special request for a package to include a bouquet for herself and her bridesmaid and boutonnieres for the groom and groomsman. Her March wedding was going to be informal, so she requested no fancy fabrics.
In fact, I used solid eggplant and slate broadcloth and worked with her tie designer (also found on Etsy) to incorporate fabric from the ties. Hillary liked the modern look of the exposed wires (we used brown wires to tie in her color scheme) and the simple flowers, but we created a frayed edge to the ribbon to keep the vintage feel, too.
Mother-of-the-Bride (and Groom) Wrist Corsages for Ashley
A few months ago my Google Analytics told me that Ashley had put my most popular wrist corsage on her wedding planning website. When I went to the link, I saw she was doing so many neat DIY things herself that I thought were great. (Check out her bead bouquets!)
Soon, Ashley ordered two corsages and sent me fabric leftover from her bridal gown alterations to be used in the design. I used the typical three-strand, pearl bracelet to create these items, but I was also able to use satin, lining, and a thick tulle from her scraps. These corsages are for the mother-of-the-bride and the mother-of-the-groom. What a great idea!
Ashley has since ordered another corsage to be used as a small gift for the wife in the couple who “wins” the anniversary dance at her reception. Love this!
