It’s My Anniversary and I Need Your Help

Can you believe it has already been a year since I stuck my flag in the Truly, Margaret Mary blog? I can’t! On one hand, this year has flown by so fast. On the other, I feel like I’ve lived seven lifetimes since last holiday season.

It has taken almost this long for me to find the specific voice I wanted for this blog and a lifestyle that matches it. You may have recently noticed the change of design, but hopefully you also noticed the new tag line.

“TRULY, MARGARET MARY IS A LIFESTYLE BLOG BASED IN MILWAUKEE, WI WHERE WE TALK HONEST INSPIRATION FOR THE REAL GOOD LIFE.”

That’s something we can all get behind, right? Life is sometimes super, but it’s always real. Your dog may be adorable, but he also tracks snow in through the back hall and kitchen before you can attack him with a towel. (Not that I’m talking from experience or anything…) The job gives you satisfaction, but that one coworker is a little nutty every now and then. Usually there is a reason to smile, but sometimes we’ve just got to take a deep breath and move on.

In honor of the anniversary (and finally figuring out what I want to talk about when I grow up!), I have a few blog series where I could use your help.

Call for Guest Bloggers

Are you living the good life? Or are you more of a real life person trying to stay optimistic in the day-to-day minutiae? I know I’m not the only person who’s striving to be happy in a lifetime of Standard, Average Tuesdays. Help me involve more voices on this blog!

Call for Guest Bloggers on Truly, Margaret Mary

As I get ready for a little break when my Eggroll comes in February, I’d like to invite friends of Truly, Margaret Mary to create posts to keep us inspired in my absence. Check out this link to get topic ideas.

If writing isn’t your thing, I’d be happy to see a few photos-only posts or even a Youtube video or two. Perhaps Pinterest is more your style and you’d love to list your top 10 favorite cookie recipes. You tell me!

I’d like to do at least one guest post a week starting the week of January 13th. Guest bloggers will be published in the order I hear from you, unless there is an idea I think would fit in best at a particular time.

If you would like to post, please contact me ASAP with your topic and a link to your own blog, if you have one. (No worries if you don’t!) I will do my best to promote your own blog/Etsy shop/hopes and dreams as best I can when your post goes live.

This is a great opportunity to test your hand at blogging without the commitment of your own site.

Yoga Off the Mat

I’m very bummed that I only have two weeks left of teaching my pilates and yoga classes, but this new center of gravity and extra 25 pounds are keeping me from being the best teacher I can be. Well, in that environment at least. While I am on break, I plan on a weekly series of posts for “yoga off the mat”.

Yoga Lessons from Maggie JoIf my teacher training taught me anything, it was that the physical moves we do in a yoga class are only a teeny, tiny part of living a yogic lifestyle. Don’t worry, I won’t be suggesting we all go live in caves and meditate all day, but I will provide short lessons to help you keep grounded at the office, at home, in traffic… i.e. all the places where stress really lives.

Some lessons will be physical, some mental. I have ideas already, but I would LOVE to hear from you. What do you wish your yoga teacher would tell you?

If you haven’t already subscribed to all my blog posts, you can now sign up to just receive these yoga lessons. Each weekly lesson will come out on Monday or Tuesday starting on December 23rd. I’m working on a special gift to be given around the first of the year for those that subscribe, so don’t miss out!

As you can see, I hope to make Truly, Margaret Mary an even bigger thing in its second year. This has been a great outlet for me and hopefully a fun and entertaining corner of the internet for you to hang out in as well.

Here’s to many more anniversaries, TMM friends!
