Happy New Year’s friends! What did you do to celebrate the new year? I’m getting to an age when half of my friends were in bed by 9 am and the other half was out celebrating ’til 3am. We were somewhere in between as we went to a friend’s house where we enjoying great food, games, company, and drinks yet promptly left at 12:08.
But that’s not the point of today’s post.
As I scrolled through my Facebook feed this morning, I noticed that A LOT of people were saying good riddance to 2014. I get it. A lot of $hit went down last year. (Can I say “last year” when it happened less than 24 hours ago?) It was an ugly time for a lot of people.
But you know what?
This.*
2014 brought me this little lady which has enriched my life in more ways than I could count. I love harder. I teach with passion. I clean poopy diapers without gagging. My relationship with my husband is stronger than ever before. My respect for my own mother grew three sizes this year. I am more inspired to be a super-powered businesswoman than I ever have been.
2014 was amazing and 2015 is only going to be better.
So I know a lot of you are thankful to wash your hands of the past year, but know someone on the other side of the block (room, world, etc.) might have had the best year ever. That’s not to rub it in your face! It’s to say, watch out 2015, Meghan, Nicole, Nicole, Nikki (jeez…), and everyone else who had a sucky 2014 are gonna kick your a$$!!!
Go get ’em, ladies!!! Or at least find more to make you happy.
If you can’t find it, let me know. I’m good at tap-dancing. That will definitely make you giggle.
*No, Eggroll did not stay up until midnight. We had a kids party at about 8:20. Thanks YouTube!
